B Troop, 4th U.S. Cavalry Regiment (Memorial) hosts a Cavalry Riding School Graduation Ceremony at 2:30pm, Thursday, April 28, on historic Brown Parade Field.
The public is invited to attend this unique, colorful ceremony which highlights Fort Huachuca’s Old West cavalry heritage.
Three Soldiers graduate riding school, including the second graduate of the Ladies Auxiliary sidesaddle riding school. The two new troopers will receive brass spurs and the graduate of the sidesaddle riding school will receive a riding crop with her initials engraved on it. The graduates are Chief Warrant Officer Brian Taylor, Sgt. 1st Class Tilmon Cantrell and Staff Sgt. Lisa Swanson.
After putting on their spurs, the new troopers will conduct their first open field charge led by the B Troop commander. It begins when the bugler sounds the charge. Once the charge concludes, B Troop’s K Battery will fire a round in honor of the graduates.
