Restaurants offer military members, vets thank-you meals

Some restaurants will offer free or discounted meals to members of the military Friday in honor of Veterans Day.

Active-duty, reserve and retired troops are eligible for the program, providing they can prove they qualify, according to the American Forces Press Service.

Applebee's says 'Thank You' to veterans and troops with free meal on Veterans Day

The following is a news release from Applebee's:

In what has become a neighborhood tradition, Applebee's will again thank our nation's veterans and troops by inviting them to their neighborhood Applebee's for a free signature entrée on Veterans Day, Friday, Nov. 11, 2011.

For the third year, Applebee's will salute our nation's military, hoping to top the 1,024,000 million free meals served last year from coast-to-coast.

The City’s Tourism Commission and its Restaurant Committee would like to remind the community of the upcoming Inaugural Restaurant Week. 

From September 26 through October 2, the 14 participating restaurants will be offering discounts, of 10 to 50 percent, to those diners who mention “Restaurant Week” or “Almost Employee Pricing” when ordering.
