Hummingbird banding season will end in early October and if you’ve never witnessed hummingbird banding, don’t miss it! Once you’ve been to a session and been amazed by the beauty of the birds, you’ll return for many more banding opportunities, bringing along family and friends.

The banding season is from late March through early October, with the greatest number migrating through our area in April/May and August.

There are two locations in Sierra Vista where researchers band the tiny birds: San Pedro House and Fort Huachuca. The sessions at the San Pedro House are held in the afternoons and on Fort Huachuca in the very early morning hours.
