Sierra Vista Fire to host 9/11 commemorative service

The Sierra Vista Fire Department, in conjunction with several other agencies, will be hosting a brief ceremony in remembrance of those who were lost on September 11, 2001. 

The public is invited to pay tribute to the men and women whose lives were cut short by an act of terror, and those who gave their lives trying to save others. The ceremony begins Sunday, September 11 at 10:00 a.m. at the Centennial Pavilion at Veterans’ Memorial Park.

Sheriff's office seeking owner of coins, precious metals found near burned area

The Sheriff's officer has recovered several coins and precious metals near the Monument Fire zones south of Sierra Vista.

We are attempting to locate the owners of this property.

Army brass band entertains weekend crowd

The Thunder Mountain Brass, part of the 62nd Army Band from Fort Huachuca, entertained a nice size crowd last Saturday evening at the Centennial Pavilion in Veterans’ Memorial Park.

The Concerts in the Park showcases local bands and entertainment throughout the Summer months.

Fry Cemetery dedication ceremony to be held this Friday

On Friday, July 29, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. a years-long endeavor will finally come to fruition as the City of Sierra Vista dedicates the Fry Pioneer Cemetery, located between Sixth and Seventh Streets just north of Fry Boulevard.

This event was previously scheduled but postponed when City staff and resources were needed to assist with the Monument Fire.
