BISBEE, AZ (Tucson News Now)- In just a few hours the battle over rights for same sex couples will heat up again.
Leaders from Bisbee are meeting the state's most powerful attorney.
The debate over same-sex civil unions is moving from the city level to the state level, as Bisbee's city attorney meets with Arizona Attorney General Tom Horne today.
The two sides will discuss what is legal and what is illegal when it comes to same sex couples and the letter of the law. The state attorney general previously threatened a lawsuit.
The meeting is happening later this afternoon in Phoenix and a press conference is expected after. All of these battles are playing out as the City of Tempe considers its own civil union vote.
