The Cochise County Sheriff’s Office has established a procedure for residents who live in Ash and Stump Canyon, and who have been advised that their property has been damaged to view that property.

Any resident who has been contacted and advised of property loss/damage in these two areas should contact the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office at 520-803-3850 to make an appointment to view your property. Once an appointment has been made, a Deputy will transport up to four people to the property address to allow for photos to be taken and damage assessment.

As wildfires continue to burn donations are still needed

Tucsonans are stepping up and donating much needed supplies for wildfire victims.

Locally operated, World Care has been collecting items for evacuees, pets, firefighters and volunteers affected by the Wallow Fire and now the Monument Fire near Sierra Vista.

Over 26,000 pounds of donations were collected last week but more are needed for our Southeast neighbors.

"We are blessed we are in an area where we are safe and we pray for the safety of those who are having to leave and the fire fighters," says Tucson resident Patricia Halliday.

Monument wildfire stalls above AZ's Miller Canyon

(AP) - Authorities say slurry drops have stalled the Monument Fire that was moving down Miller Canyon and toward homes near Sierra Vista.

However, there were more mandatory evacuations Friday on the west side of Highway 92 from Stump Canyon, north to Ramsey Canyon Road.

Highway 92 is closed at Ramsey Road on the north and Palominas Road on the south. All traffic coming from Bisbee to Sierra Vista should not use Highway 92.

Bulldozer blamed for Ft. Huachuca fire

Fire crews are battling a brush fire near South Range on Fort Huachuca, near where the aerostat is stationed, according to Carol Capas of the Cochise County Sheriff's Office.

Officials say the cause of the blaze was a bulldozer.

Natural gas service has been restored to the 2100 customers evacuated due to this afternoon's Ft. Huachuca fire.  Because the system had not yet lost pressure, we were able to restore service without having to go door to door and do manual relights.

Southwest Gas has just turned off natural gas service to an additional 2,100 customers in Sierra Vista in response to a fire at the U.S. Air Force Aerostat site on Ft. Huachuca.  This affects all customers south of buffalo Soldier Trail and west of Highway 92.

No additional shut offs on the east side of Highway 92 have occurred since yesterday.

The Main Gate is now closed.
