Historic integrity of Mountain View Officers’ Club lost due to major modifications

A recent study by the Army Corps of Engineers’ Construction Engineering Research Laboratory (CERL) has determined that the Mountain View Officer’s Club is ineligible for the National Register of Historic Places.

This new classification is due to extensive ‘remodeling’ of the club over the years; including a complete redesign of the interior floor plan, removal of the original mural in the dance hall, and replacement of a majority of the original windows.  The window removal includes many of those from the first floor, and all of those located on the second floor and in the attic.

All of this means the historic integrity of the Mountain View Officer’s Club has been lost, and according to the report Fort Huachuca supports the reports finding.
