SVPD receives Governor's Office of Highway Safety grants | News
The Sierra Vista Police Department has been awarded two grants from the Governor's Office of Highway Safety. Funds from these grants will provide overtime pay for officers working DUI deployments throughout the year, as well as the purchase of preliminary breath testing devices, radar units and digital recording systems for the Department motorcycle and three patrol vehicles.
According to Police Division Commander Daryl Copp, "These purchases would not be possible without the assistance of these grants from the Governor's Office of Highway Safety. This equipment will assist the Department in our efforts to provide a safer driving environment for our citizens."
