Vehicle burglaries skyrocketing in Sierra Vista

SIERRA VISTA, AZ (Tucson News Now)- As of last month, vehicle burglaries in Sierra Vista saw a 100 percent increase over the same time frame last year.

Sierra Vista police say the crimes are occurring in apartment complexes and shopping centers where vehicles are being left unsecured.

That's why authorities in Sierra Vista are asking residents to take extra precautions, by making sure they lock their vehicle doors at all times and remove items from plain view.
