Suspect arrested in double stabbing

A man is under arrest in connection with a deadly double stabbing in Sierra Vista.

Taylor Wayne Phillips is being held without bond.  He's a suspect in the deaths of two men after a fight at a party earlier this month.

6:36AM      A resident in the 50 blk. of Witt reported a vehicle burglary.  The suspect took a car stereo.

7:57AM      An employee at AFCA, 302 El Camino Real reported criminal damage. Rocks were thrown through several small windows causing damage.

Sierra Vista woman gets life for first-degree murder

SIERRA VISTA, AZ (KOLD)- A Sierra Vista woman will spend her life in prison after being sentenced to life in prison for the 2010 murder of her boyfriend.

Ajelina Louise Roth Lewis, now 21, was found guilty in May for the murder of William Palmer, 21, and tampering with physical evidence by concealing her cell phone on March 12, 2010, according to Cochise County Court officials.

2 illegal immigrants claim they were struck by lightning

Two Mexican men called a Border Patrol station claiming they were struck by lightning after entering the United States illegally, Border Patrol spokeswoman Colleen Agle stated.

Agents at the Sonoita Station received the report and headed out to the scene, on Highway 83 near Parker Canyon Lake.

23 arrests made during Border Patrol operation

The following is a news release from U.S. Border Patrol:

A four-day operation near Whetstone, Ariz., concluded Aug. 7, resulting in the seizure of more than 170 pounds of marijuana, valued at about $85,000, and 23 arrests.

The Alliance to Combat Transnational Threats operation was led by the U.S. Border Patrol, which focused on apprehending smugglers and disrupting transnational criminal organizations operating in and around the Whetstone area.

Ramos faces April 3 trial date in Sierra Vista murder, assault

Theodore R. Ramos will face an April 3 trial on charges stating that he murdered a Sierra Vista man and sexually assaulted the man's 72-year-old wife.

The 17-year-old Ramos allegedly slashed the 76-year-old man's throat in a July 24 attack in the 2600 block of East Suma Drive before assaulting the man's wife.

Victims identified after SV party shooting

A weekend party turned fatal after a fight broke out, just south of Sierra Vista.

Two men were attending a party in the 4500 block of Copper Street, just after midnight Saturday, Cochise County Sheriff's Department spokeswoman Carol Capas stated.
