Distinctive 'mohawk' haircut helps catch burglar

An alleged burglar is finally caught and arrested by the Sierra Vista Police Department, due to a distinctive haircut.

The suspect, Jason A. Redeye Jr. was seen on surveillance cameras burglarizing a CAS School on 900 Carmelita Drive in mid July.  The footage showed a black male, with a distinctive ‘mohawk’ haircut, enter a classroom that was later determined where a wallet was stolen.  The owner of the wallet checked their credit cards on July 25 and 26 and saw several unauthorized charges in Sierra Vista.

Officers investigating the burglary located footage from stores where the transactions took place, and the same black male with a ‘mohawk’ was seen using the credit cards.  It was from this footage that law enforcement was able to determine who the burglary suspect was.
August 7 SVPD responded to a complaint of noise and came in contact with a person, who provided a false name.  According to officials, the dispatcher advised the name given was an alias used by Redeye.  The officers then tried to arrest the suspect, who tried to flee the scene.

Redeye was taken into custody and booked at the Cochise County Jail on charges of the following: one count of burglary, two counts of theft of a credit card, five counts of forgery of a credit card, ten counts of fraudulent use of credit card, resisting arrest, possession of prescription drugs, possession of narcotic drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.
