Early morning attempted robbery in Sierra Vista | Crime
Early Sunday morning the Sierra Vista Police Department received a call that a pharmacist was being threatened by a man with a knife.
Officers arrived at the Walgreens on 1950 E. Fry Blvd to find the suspect had jumped the counter and threatened the pharmacist on duty with a knife, demanding all the narcotics on hand. According to witnesses once the cabinet, containing the narcotics was opened, the suspect released the pharmacist. He then barricaded himself into the pharmacy.
The SVPD Special Response team arrived and began negotiations with the suspect; who by then had been identified as Jason Parr, a 22-year-old male. Parr surrendered to law enforcement after an hour of negotiating, without incident. The pharmacist was injured during the attempted robbery and was treated and released at the hospital.
Parr was later booked into the Cochise County Jail on charges of Armed Robbery, Kidnapping, Aggravated Assault and Possessions of Narcotics.
