SVPD arrest man on assault charges, later turns to homicide when victim dies | Crime
On July 10, at approximately 2:24 a.m., a severely injured man was dropped off outside of the Sierra Vista Regional Health Center emergency room.
SVPD officers responded and discovered that the victim, identified as 24-year-old Sean Ryan Bauer, had life threatening blunt force injuries. He was transported to University Medical Center in Tucson where he later died from his injuries.
During the course of the investigation, detectives learned that earlier that night, Sean Bauer was at a residence in the 100 block of Brown Drive and was assaulted by a suspect, identified as 36-year-old Alvin Darnell Williams.
Evidence linking Williams to the assault was discovered and he was taken into custody without incident later that morning. At the time of his arrest, Williams was charged with two counts of aggravated assault and one count of attempted second degree murder. The charges will be amended by the Cochise County Attorney's Office as a result of the victim dying from his injuries.
